National Innovation Foundation

Objectives :

Grassroots innovators and traditional knowledge holders intimately understand their environments and create innovations with immense potential to change the world around them. However, at times, these innovators do not have access to the skills, knowledge networks and techno-commercial resources needed to take their innovations to the market. Most innovations need optimization in design, detailed engineering, and application of advanced scientific and technology inputs. Some of the issues involved in product innovations include:

  • Optimization of design for improving effectiveness, functioning, energy efficiency, value proposition, human factors and product reliability
  • Standardization of materials, processes, components and assemblies
  • Performance evaluation and testing of devices in standard /non-standard conditions, modifications and value engineering
  • Pooling of best features and developing an advanced product sustainable in wider market
